DOWN THE MOUNTAIN, THE GRANDIN THEATRE & FLOYDFEST 25~AURORA PRESENT THE TAN & SOBER GENTLEMEN | DOORS 6 PM | SHOWTIME 7 PM
Advance $20+tx | Day of Show $24+tx

Born and raised in North Carolina, the Tan and Sober Gentlemen began taking the songs, stories, and tunes that make up their beloved state’s musical tradition before they could talk. The music of the Carolinas, (and Appalachia in general) stems from the marriage of the Irish fiddle and the African banjo, which first met in the American South before the Revolution. The Tan and Sober Gentlemen aim to bring these traditions full circle. They play Irish tunes, ballads, and pub songs right next to the Appalachian fiddle tunes of their youth, melding the two into what they call “Irish-American hillbilly music.” Meanwhile, they have earned a reputation as one of the South’s hardest-hitting live acts, playing at blazing tempos, and putting every last bit of energy they possess into the show. The result is a raucous celebration of the Carolinas’ Irish heritage, with drinking, dancing, and merriment galore.

GRANDIN VILLAGE FARMERS MARKET

Local seasonal veggies!
Live music at the Farmers Market!

The market is located in the parking lot behind the Co+op.

Hours are: April through mid-November, 8 a.m. to noon.

Starting Saturday, April 6, Grandin Village Farmers Market begins its main season. 33 weeks of delicious locally grown and produced food! Grandin Village Farmers Market supports an average of 25 vendors each week, including area farmers, bakers, coffee roasters, spice and hot sauce makers, and artisans of all kinds. The nonprofit Local Environmental Agriculture Project manages this market. Questions? Email info@leapforlocafood.org

Recipients of SNAP, Pandemic-EBT, WIC, and Medicaid receive an additional dollar to spend on fresh fruits and vegetables for every dollar they spend at market. Stop by the Market Manager's tent before shopping to receive tokens that are used as cash to pay each vendor.

The Grandin Village Farmers Market (GVFM) supports local, sustainable agriculture by connecting the public with local farmers and food producers.

The GVFM features 100% locally produced products with an emphasis on organic, sustainable, and humane producers, products, and practices. All products are produced within 100 miles of the market location, with the exception of regional seafood from Virginia and North Carolina waters (only if the vendor is local) and coffee (only if the roaster is local).

The market is comprised of two dozen farmers and food producers featuring certified and non-certified organic veggies, fruit, herbs, seasonal seedlings, cheese, pasture raised/grass-fed chicken, beef, pork, and lamb, regional seafood, locally roasted coffee, artisan homemade breads, muffins, baked goods, hot-prepared foods, and fresh-cut flowers. (See map)
